Founded in 2003 by Luke Montagu and Thomas Hoegh, MetFilm School began its journey at Clapham Junction before relocating to the prestigious Ealing Studios in London in 2005, establishing its headquarters at one of the world’s most historic film production facilities. The school’s mission as an educational institution is to provide students with practical, high-quality learning experiences grounded in professional industry practice and preparation. In 2024, MetFilm School was acquired by BIMM University, further strengthening its position in the creative education sector. The school operates seven campuses including six in the United Kingdom (London, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, and Manchester) and one in Berlin, Germany, making it a truly international institution.

MetFilm School maintains strong academic standards through degree validation by the University of West London and membership in CILECT, the international association of film and television schools. The school has established informal ties with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield, with many NFTS graduates teaching at MetFilm School, creating a bridge between two of the UK’s leading film education institutions.
